This sculpture is inspired by a strange radio tower perched atop the building on Loyola Ave. and Girod Streets in downtown New Orleans. Upon asking longstanding residents about the tower, the artist discovered that few people have ever noticed it. The mystery was compounded when he discovered that the building beneath the tower was built in the 60s as an FBI Field office, and that it now houses a division of the Department of Homeland Security.
The created sculpture functions as an interactive musical instrument, playing looped audio clips of coded transmissions and jamming signals.
