Recycled Sounds

Interactive, public instrument sculptures made from reclaimed materials installed in the Austin City Hall parking garage.  Made in collaboration with Austin SoundWaves and artists Jebney Lewis and Travis Weller.

Monumental work for 80 trombones, organ, and sopranino by Henry Brant. Performed in the atrium of the Blanton Museum of Art by student, amateur, and professional trombonists from across Texas.


A work for 4 unmanned flying drones, robot percussion, morse code, shortwave radio transmissions, and air raid sirens



A site-specific work about loss, invisibility, and memory.  For 1.5 million bats, conch shell ensemble, megaphone choir, and handmade echolocation devices.

A sound series at the Blanton Museum of Art that features simultaneous, interdisciplinary performances, installations, and happenings throughout  the museum's galleries.

SoundAtlas is an interactive sound installation for Northwest Austin.  Available via free iPhone app Soundyarn, the soundtrack reacts to the user's movement and location in real time.

Instruments made from contact mics, a steel bridge, benches, cacti, bananas, and Arduino at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.


Music for Wilderness Lake

12 trombonists, arranged around a body of water, are cued by nautical flags from a boat in the lake.  Performed at dusk and dawn. Composed by R. Murray Shafer.

The Way of Timbre

Performed in coordination with the LED light display of the James Turrell Skyspace.  For trombones, didgeridoos, and sine waves.  Composed by Steve Parker.
